Scholarships in Spain

A lot of people do not really consider Spain when considering education but two of the top 11 Business Schools in the world are in Spain – IE and IESE. The MBA Programmes at these schools are taught in English. However, you will need the Spanish Language to communicate with the locals within Spain especially if you live outside Madrid and Barcelona.

Spain is a beautiful place. It has a lot of medieval cities, a rich culture and you should try the tapas if you ever visit. So, back to the main topic, the Government sponsored scholarship would be closing on January 14, 2009, so you should apply for it as soon as you can even if you don’t have admission yet, just fill in the school that you think you’ll most likely attend. They are very strict with deadlines, so, I advice you apply as soon as possible. Of course, you should apply to these schools and ensure that your admission coincides with the scholarship award period

The link to the site is shown below, however; take a look at the following recommendations before you start filling the form

Government Sponsored

The Spanish government and a host of Hispanic bodies offer scholarships for both undergraduate and post graduate studies in Spain. A part of the government sponsored scholarship comes with

1. €2,000 for tuition

2. €1,200 monthly stipend or €600 with Accommodation

3. The accommodation is a fully equipped hostel in the main university region in Madrid with a gym, swimming pool (only open in summer), single room and self contained rooms, library etc.

Key information

Note the following when applying for this scholarship

1. It is in Spanish, you can use Google Translator (translate.google.com).

2. You should not be resident in Spain when applying for the scholarship.

3. Go through the requirements well before applying, so you know the specific requirements for your intended course (Masters, MBA, PhD etc)

The Scholarship requirements document is a pdf file that details the process and key requirements. Please, go through it very well. It was written in spanish and translated to English using a translator, so the grammar might not flow well, just try and understand what the sentence is trying to say.

All the best everyone........
